Dental Insurance & Payment Options in Beaverton, OR

We accept almost all dental insurance — PPO, HMO, Medicare plans, state coverage and the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) — and we check your benefits first.

Short answer: Yes. Bien Dental accepts almost all dental insurance, including PPO and HMO plans, Medicare plans with dental coverage, state-sponsored coverage and the Oregon Health Plan (OHP). Bring your card, and we will check your benefits before your visit.

Insurance we work with at our Beaverton office

Finding a dentist should not start with a spreadsheet of who takes what. Our approach is simple: if you have dental coverage, chances are we can use it. Below is how the most common types of coverage work here.

PPO plans

We accept almost all PPO dental plans. Bring your card and we will look at your deductible, yearly maximum and what your plan says about checkups, sealants and fillings.

HMO plans

HMO and managed-care dental plans are welcome. Because these plans can have their own rules, please share your plan name when you book so we can confirm the details.

Oregon Health Plan (OHP)

We welcome children and adults covered by OHP. Bring your OHP ID and any dental plan card you have received, and we will confirm your coverage before the visit.

State-sponsored coverage

If your family has coverage through a state program, tell us which one. We will verify it and explain what it covers.

Medicare plans

Original Medicare usually does not cover routine dental care, but many Medicare plans include dental benefits. Share your plan card and we will see what it offers.

No insurance

Not insured, or between plans? Call us. We will talk through costs and your options before treatment, so nothing comes as a surprise.

Oregon Health Plan (OHP) and your child’s dental care

OHP covers dental care for many children and adults in Oregon, and dental benefits are commonly administered through a dental care organization (DCO). If you are not sure which organization your child is assigned to, look at the cards you received in the mail, or call us. We are glad to help you sort it out.

For a new OHP patient, it helps to bring:

  • Your child’s OHP ID
  • Any dental plan card you received
  • A photo ID for the parent or guardian

Coverage rules can change, so we confirm eligibility for every visit rather than assuming.

Medicare and dental: what to know

Many adults are surprised to learn that Original Medicare generally does not pay for routine dental care such as cleanings, fillings or dentures. Some Medicare plans do include dental benefits, though the details vary a great deal.

If you have a Medicare plan with dental coverage, bring your card. We will check what it covers and explain the estimate before treatment.

Good to know: Dr. Gvozden’s general dentistry visits and Dr. Hsu’s children’s visits are billed the same way, so a whole family can often use their coverage in one place.

How we handle your benefits, step by step

  1. Tell us about your coverage. When you call or request an appointment, share the plan name, member ID and the subscriber’s name and birth date.
  2. We verify it. Our team contacts the plan to confirm your benefits and any waiting periods or limits.
  3. We explain your estimate. Before treatment that costs money, you will hear what the plan is expected to cover and what is left for you.
  4. You decide. Nothing happens until you understand the plan and agree to it.

An estimate reflects what your plan tells us and is not a promise of payment. Your insurer makes the final decision about coverage.

A few tips for families

  • Two plans? If your child has coverage under both parents, tell us. One plan is usually primary.
  • Yearly maximums renew. Many plans reset on January 1 or on your plan anniversary, so ask us about timing for larger treatments.
  • Preventive care is often well covered. Checkups, cleanings, fluoride and sealants are commonly covered at a higher level than other treatment.
  • Changed plans recently? Bring the new card to your next visit so records stay current.
