Pediatric & Family Dentist Serving the West-Side Metro

Families from Beaverton, Aloha, Hillsboro, Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood and beyond choose Bien Dental for gentle kids’ care and family dentistry.

Short answer: Bien Dental is a pediatric and family dental office at 18355 SW Alexander St in Beaverton, Oregon, near SW 185th Ave and Tualatin Valley Highway. Families come from Beaverton, Aloha, Hillsboro, Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood and other west-side communities for children’s dentistry with Dr. Hsu, and for adult care with Dr. Gvozden.

Finding a kids’ dentist on the west side of the metro

The west-side suburbs of Portland run together in a way that makes “nearby” a slippery word. A parent in Sherwood may work in Hillsboro. A family in Cedar Mill may spend every Saturday at a soccer field in Aloha. When you are choosing a pediatric dentist, the right office is often the one that fits the routes your family already drives.

Our office was set up with that in mind. We are in the Aloha–Beaverton area, close to a major east–west road that many families already use, and we welcome children from across the region. Below you will find a page for each community we hear from most, written around what daily life there tends to look like.

General directions to our office

We are at 18355 SW Alexander St, Beaverton, OR 97006, near the crossing of SW 185th Avenue and Tualatin Valley Highway (TV Highway, also OR-8). If you are already on TV Highway, you are on the right road. From the north, most families come down from the US-26 (Sunset Highway) area and connect over to TV Highway. From the south, OR-217 is a common way to reach the Beaverton side of the metro.

We do not quote drive times here, because traffic in the metro area changes with the hour and the season. A map app on the day of your visit will give you the most honest number. If you would like help planning the route, call us and we will talk it through.

Ways families reach us

  • TV Highway (OR-8): the most direct east–west route for Hillsboro and Aloha families.
  • US-26 (Sunset Highway): a common approach from Cedar Mill, Bethany and the north side.
  • OR-217: links Tigard and Tualatin traffic with the Beaverton area.
  • TriMet MAX Blue Line: runs through Beaverton and Hillsboro; check TriMet for the best connection to our address.

Why families travel a little for a dental home

A good pediatric visit is calm, unhurried and consistent from one checkup to the next. Children who see the same friendly faces in the same room tend to relax faster, and parents get to build a real relationship with the person watching their child’s teeth grow in. That kind of continuity is worth a bit of planning.

It also helps that we see the whole household. Dr. Hsu cares for infants, children and teens. Dr. Jovan Gvozden provides general dentistry for adults, so parents and grandparents can be seen at the same office. Booking back-to-back time for two or three family members can save a second trip.

Parent tip: Ask for appointments that line up with your school run or work schedule when you call. We would rather find a time that works than have you rearrange your whole day.

What to expect as a new family

  1. Call or request a visit. Tell us who needs care and how old they are. Babies, toddlers and school-age kids are all welcome, and so are adults.
  2. Share your history. Our new patient page explains what to bring, including any past records or X-rays you have.
  3. Check your benefits. We are happy to look at your dental benefits before your visit. See insurance and financing for how we can help.
  4. Come in and say hello. A first visit is gentle and paced to your child. Our first dental visit guide shows what happens.
